I walked to the site of the Van Haarlem fire this past Saturday and took some photos of what remained. I could still smell smoke from a block away as I made my way to the area, though this could have been residual smoke from another fire that happened earlier that day. The area was still blocked off, fire hoses stretched along the avenue, and a fire truck and mobile command unit kept watch in case of flare-ups. It was strange to see how empty the lot had become since a good portion of the building had already been torn down.
Which historic building in Lethbridge would you be sad to see demolished?
